TWO top talents from the English folk scene head to Bideford Folk Club on Thursday, October 18, 8pm. Songwriter John Conolly performs with warmth, good humour and lilting accompaniments on guitar and melodeon. His best-known composition, the classic Fiddlers' Green, has the ring of a true folk ballad, and has often been taken for a traditional song.

James Findlay has a distinctive resonant voice, choppy fiddle and a liking for fiery ballads. The singer from Dorset comes from a family background of traditional singers.

He scooped the 2010 BBC's Radio 2 Young Folk Award title where he was lauded for an amazing voice.

The concert will be at Next Door, Crabby Dick's, Bideford Details: 01237 470792 or 476632.
