Ilfracombe Town suffered a 1-0 defeat to Cadbury Heath in their final home game of the Toolstation Western League premier division season last night.
Nick Dyer, a midfielder pressed into service up front in a depleted Cadbury side, scored the only goal in the first half.
Cadbury's win, in what was their last match of the campaign, sees them finish in fourth place having been promoted from the first division last year.
The defeat brought an end to Ilfracombe's recent upturn in results, which had seen them win three in a row.
They still have a chance of rising one place to 16th if they can win at Larkhall Athletic tomorrow.
Defenders James Mayne and Craig Allan were joint winners of the Ilfracombe supporters' player of the season vote.
