HOLSWORTHY Police Station will be opening its doors for a free security marking event this month.

The town's neighbourhood police team has organised the sessions to help track down owners if their items are lost or stolen.

Officers will security mark any items people bring in by UV marking or engraving. Leather items such as horse tack can be stamped.

PCSO for Holsworthy, Emma Tomkies, said the team would also show people how to register items via website www.immobilise. com

"This means if a stolen or lost item is recovered we know where the owner is and how to contact them.

"We constantly mark items for members of the public if they request.

"With it being just after Christmas, we are aware lots of people will have received presents of high value. It is an ideal time to get them security marked so they will be unique and identifiable."

There will also be a chance to make an appointment for a home security check. Officers will visit homes to assess any issues people have with security as well as marking large items which could not be brought to the station.

The two day security marking event takes place on Thursday, January 24 from 3.30pm-5pm and Friday, January 25 from 6pm-8pm.
