WOOLACOMBE Bay Holiday Parks has recorded a record start to holiday bookings for 2014. Sales in January were up by 21% compared with 2013 and the company experienced its best ever early booking day on January 31.
The top five performing periods compared with last year are spring (up 146%), May half-term (up 54%), term time in June (up 53%), summer school holidays (up 40%) and Easter (up by 24%).
"Demand for all school holidays is considerably up on last year and customers are booking earlier to avoid disappointment following the record summer of last year when we completely sold out at May half-term and during peak season," said Kevin Darvill, sales and marketing director.
"In addition, demand for weekend breaks is on the increase, with price-conscious families opting for short stays at lower prices."
The biggest growth in bookings has been at Twitchen House Holiday Village as a result of promotion of its new £2.5 million investment in a family entertainment centre, scheduled to open at Easter. There is also more demand for new model caravans.
