BAMPTON Heritage and Visitor Centre is hosting its grand opening on Saturday, September 14.
The new establishment housed in St Michael and All Angels Church will provide a free service run by volunteers from Wednesday to Saturday and will offer guided town trails and school visits.
The Heritage Lottery Fund grant of £23,000 got the project of the ground and launch party will be held on Friday, September 13, at 7pm.
Chairman Katrina Munro said: "After such a long time in the planning, we are so excited to be opening this great facility in Bampton."
Telling Bampton's story on interpretation boards and displays, the centre will be preserving historical artefacts such as the 1960's scale model of the town which has been restored to its former glory. A cheese and wine party will be held and tickets can be bought at Toucan Bistro for £7.50.
