A TORRINGTON teenager has raised hundreds of pounds for a cancer charity.
Hayden Facey, 15, organised a cake sale at Torrington Conservative Club in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.
He decided to host the fundraising event after his sister, Marika, overcame bone cancer.
Coffee cake, jam sponges and savoury pastries were just some of the treats on offer.
Hayden said the event sold out and nearly £300 was raised for charity. He said: "Thanks to everyone who donated all the lovely cakes and doing their part for charity.
"It was great to see people were willing to support the great charity. I have been encouraged and there will be more events in the near future."
Hayden organised the event alongside friend Ellie Leonard.
He said: "My sister was very grateful to us for doing the event.
"She hopes it helps many people who are now going through what she went through. Thank you to everyone who came along to show their support. Even if you didn't buy anything big, it still helps people with cancer get through it and overcome it."
