Hatherleigh joint second in Devon and Exeter League

HATHERLEIGH TOWN are joint second in the Fresha Devon and Exeter League premier division after a 5-3 win over Thorverton.

Mark Lake chipped in the opener and it was 1-1 at half time before Town stormed to a 5-1 lead with two apiece for Greg Mitchell and Ryan Davies.

Since signing from Shebbear United, Mitchell has scored ten goals in seven league games.

Hatherleigh manager Danny Gray said: "I was really pleased with the desire and effort to win.

"If we can get to Christmas hanging in with the top three, who knows what we can do?"

Morchard Bishop are up to sixth after three straight wins.They hit back from 1-0 down to beat Topsham Town 2-1 with goals from Jon Bradford and Kenny Ord.
