We've all driven past the enormous green, camouflaged Morrisons depot off the M5 at Bridgwater - but now the unusual looking building has been sold for £80 million.

The distribution shed which stretches for nearly a mile along the motorway has been sold to Aviva Investments in a deal brokered by Colliers International.

The Morrisons Regional Distribution shed employs 1,000 people. It is the subject of endless in-car debates with its eye-catching design and colour scheme.

Morrisons, which sold the building as part of a nationwide disposal of £500 million worth of assets, will continue to operate from the building which serves more than 100 South West supermarkets.
