A GCSE pod equipped with mobile phones, iPods and iPads has been made available to students at Pilton College, Barnstaple.

The pod has allowed the students to adopt a novel approach to learning which enables them to revise 15 different subjects by downloading pod casts.

The iPods can be borrowed from the library pre-loaded with maths, English and science revision materials.

Assistant headteacher Graham Ramsden said: "Through the use of GCSE Pod and our other digital learning materials we are seeing a shift with our students having far more control over their own learning and the flexibility to choose the areas that they want to concentrate on.

"This will serve them very well as they continue with their studies and enter their adult lives."
