A SERIES of thefts from foreign students have taken place towards the end of the summer in Ilfracombe, police claim.
Officers believe the students have been targeted in a number of assaults and thefts.
A 16-year-old has since been arrested in relation to two assaults which took place on August 26 on the promenade.
Police are working with Country Cousins, an educational holiday resort, to ensure similar incidents do not occur.
“It is clearly sad that these people who come to the country and visit the town are victimised in this way,” said North Devon sector inspector Roger Bartlett.
“We are working hard to reduce any crimes of this nature and provide support to visiting students.”
