A NEW part of the Sea Ilfracombe festival will celebrate fishy food in all its glory.
The Fore Street Food Fest will be held for the first time on September 8.
The whole street will be closed to traffic and all restaurants and pubs will be offering a range of tasty treats.
Seafood samples will be available along with a beer festival and live music throughout the day.
Stuart Coslett, chair of the Friends of Fore Street, has been working with Hattie Booth, a newly-appointed flag worker, to put together a day of exciting food-based events.
He is hopeful every restaurant and bar in the street will be involved in some way or another.
"Hopefully people walking up Fore Street will go into the restaurants to see what is going on," he added.
"We put together Friends of Fore Street around about last Christmas and the idea was to raise the profile of the street and make things better for the restaurants."
Stuart said he wants people to use Fore Street as the link between the seafront and the high street.
The food festival is only one part of the wider Sea Ilfracombe festival.
This features an art exhibition, children's entertainment, a party on the Oldenburg boat, gig taster sessions, lifeboat trips, sea watch, rambles, sea shanties, a crab day, a youth sail race, model boats, a fishing competition, theatre performances and a parade.
