ATTENTION lovers of Celtic music – on Friday Dick Gaughan, folk legend, will be in North Devon.

A professional singer-songwriter since the Seventies, Gaughan spent his childhood surrounded by rich Gaelic culture, and now plays songs in his unique style.

Previously a member of traditional band The Boys Of The Lough, Gaughan also made three albums with folk-rock band Five Hand Reel, before his acclaimed 1981 solo album, Handful Of Earth, was voted as album of the decade by Folk Roots (fRoots).

The multi-talented Gaughan has also composed music for BBC films, the Scottish Arts Council, on top of writing his own symphony, Treaty 300.
