A lorry collided with a hedge after skidding on black ice near Challacombe this morning.
The front end of the four-and-a-half tonne Exmoor Ales lorry was left hanging over an 8ft drop following the collision on the B3358 at around 10.10am.
The driver was able to climb free from the cab of the vehicle but was suffering back pain. An ambulance was called to the scene and the man is currently being assessed at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Police said the owner of Exmoor Ales is currently on the way to the scene to transfer the beer from the back of the crashed lorry into another vehicle.
The road remains open and is currently “passable with care” due to part of the carriageway being partially blocked while crews await recovery of the vehicle.
