HER song is heard all over America on an advertising campaign for iShares and her voice has been described as the love child of Etta James and Janice Joplin.
Apparently, Elles Bailey's unique husky tone that sounds like she drinks Jack Daniels from the bottle and smokes 60 a day was caused by a serious illness when she was 3 which put her in a coma for 17 days.
The story goes that to keep her alive a tube was put down her throat, leaving her with this bluesy voice that is getting her recognition wherever she plays.
Elles has toured over the last 10 years and has supported artists such as Scouting for Girls and The Twang. She's been in an out of the studio and is currently working on her new album with producer Brian Banks, who worked with Michael Jackson on his Thriller album. "The Elles Bailey band play upbeat bluesy tunes with foot tapping pop for good measure," she said.
Catch The Elles Bailey Band at the Kings Arms, Georgeham on Friday, March 7, 8.30pm.
