A MAN was fined £200 for not telling his insurance provider that he had 10 penalty points on his licence.
Peter Kendall, 42, of Sticklepath Terrace, Barnstaple appeared before North Devon Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
He pleaded guilty to withholding previous motoring convictions in order to obtain insurance.
Sonia Croft, for the prosecution, told the court Kendall was stopped last December.
She said: “The offence was discovered after a routine stop check. He had insurance but didn’t disclose that he had 10 points.
“He accepted this was the case and fully admitted it at the roadside.”
Kendall said he did not disclose the information for financial reasons and that the points were due to come off shortly.
He was told to pay a £200 fine, £60 costs and £20 victim surcharge.
