A TWO-YEAR-OLD bull at Home Farm, Ashwater, has proved an excellent buy for Alison and Terry Ruby.

Cairnsmore Dominator, a British Short Horn, added Reserve Champion at Holsworthy to his breed championship at Devon County Show back in May. He was beaten only by the highly regarded Aberdeen Angus heifer, Kian Frain's Allabury Proudly Irresistible, to the top prize for Any Other Native breed.

Dominator, who also took the championship for Any Other Male, is the new stock bull for Home Farm. "He's done very well. We bought him in February from Scotland as a new blood line for the herd," said Alison.

She congratulated the Frains for their win.

"Both were fine examples of their breed," she said.
