Customers' support is rewarded at reception

THE directors of My Holiday Marketing chose to say thank you to all their clients by inviting them to a reception at Broomhill Art Hotel.

The event was an opportunity for owners to meet other owners, sharing tips and anecdotes about marketing holiday cottages in North Devon.

Directors Harry Roberts and Rick Bond personally thanked their cottage owners who have joined My Holiday Marketing since the company was established in 2010.

"We are now approaching a total of 60 holiday properties, of which over 80% have come from referrals from existing satisfied clients," said Harry Roberts. "We've got to know them all pretty well over the years and thought it would be nice to bring them all together to thank them all for trusting us in the early days."

Harry and Rick both reflected on the fact that signing up with a new business offering a fresh approach to holiday cottage marketing represented a big leap of faith on the part of their current clients.

"Based on the number of bookings they are consequently enjoying, it is good to feel that we are rewarding their belief in My Holiday Marketing's services," said Rick Bond.

As well as free-flowing wine and canapés, guests enjoyed a humorous and thought-provoking talk from Devon Life Editor Andy Cooper. He offered fond reminiscences of his time in North Devon when editor of the North Devon Journal.

He also talked about the value of businesses having a happy and confident relationship with their clients.

In these days of internet marketing, he welcomed My Holiday Marketing's commitment to knowing personally, all their clients and understanding their individual needs.

Both Rick and Harry agree that it reflects the way they treat all those with whom they come into contact, whether a home owner or a guest they are booking into an owner's cottage.

"Technology has many advantages, but there's still a place for some good old-fashioned ways of doing business, such as saying thank you and meeting people face to face."

Rick and Harry hope to repeat the reception as an annual event in My Holiday Marketing's calendar.
