A two-vehicle crash on the A361 between Braunton and Barnstaple is causing traffic chaos at rush hour this evening.
The crash, which occurred in the Ashford area at around 5pm, is causing heavy traffic near Trelawney Garden Centre.
Police said a silver Honda Civic and a gold Volvo Estate, both registered to local keepers, collided outside the Braunton Inn.
A woman is being treated at the scene for minor injuries and the effects of shock but officers said nobody has sustained serious injuries.
The road remains blocked at this time and commuters are reportedly stuck in standstill traffic on the Braunton-bound carriageway.
Police said highways crews are on their way to the scene to deal with a brake fluid spillage.
The vehicles are due to be recovered shortly.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek an alternative route where possible.
