THREE nine-year-old swimmers qualified for the County Championships on the first weekend of the Ilfracombe Swimming Club Championships.
Holly Davies, Reuben Morgan and Nathan Pollard all achieved the Devon standard in the 200m backstroke and won medals in their age groups.
In all, 20 swimmers achieved county qualifying times.
Katie Holland broke four club records in the 15-16 years category – the 100m and 400m freestyle, the 200m butterfly and the four-length individual medley.
Jessica Surridge broke the 13-14 years 100m freestyle club record, which had stood for 20 years. Josh Surridge, 15, set a new club best in the 800m freestyle; Adam Pollard broke his own 100m freestyle record in the 15-16 years age group; and one of the youngest swimmers, Skye Pirie, 8, took gold in the 33m freestyle in a new club record time. More than 300 personal bests were posted.
