NEW for 2012, Appledore Visual Arts Festival has added comedy to its line-up.

The Quay and The Beaver Inn will be hosting sketch and stand-up acts throughout the four-day festival.

Headliner is James Acaster, who will perform his full-length show, Prompt, at The Quay (Sunday, June 10, 8pm), ahead of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer.

A rising star of the stand-up world, James has appeared on Russell Howard's Good News and Dave's One Night Stand, as well as supporting Milton Jones on his national tour.

Comedy fans can also enjoy mixed bill nights featuring double acts Bob and Jim, and Ford and Akram, plus stand-up comedy from Jack Barry, Garrett Millerick, and Jenny Fawcett.

The comedy mixed bill nights, which are free, kick off at The Quay on Thursday, June 7, 8pm. They will then transfer to The Beaver on Friday, June 8 and Saturday, June 9, 9.30pm.

Tickets for James Acaster's show: £7 (adult), £5 (student) at www.wegottickets.com and on the door.
