TWINS Ed and James Mabon have been selected for the Great Britain bouldering team.

The Year 10 pupils from West Buckland School will travel to Switzerland, Bulgaria and France as they represent their country in the 2013 European Bouldering Series.

Ed and James were chosen for the youth B male (14-15 years old) category after putting in strong performances in the Junior British Bouldering Championships in Liverpool last month.

In bouldering, competitors complete short climbs over large rocks. They do not have a safety rope but instead have crash mats below.

The twins will be joined in the squad by Peter Dawson, their school-mate, who is in the bouldering and junior lead teams.

All three were part of the West Buckland team who won an inter-school climbing competition at South Molton's Rock and Rapid Adventures late last year.
