A search and rescue helicopter from RMB Chivenor was scrambled to Wales this afternoon to help a man with a dislocated knee.
The crew were called upon at around midday after receiving reports a member of the military, believed to be in his twenties, had suffered the injury while on a training exercise.
The helicopter located the man in hills approximately 10 miles south east of Aberystwyth and winched him onto the aircraft.
The search and rescue Sea King then landed near Aberystwyth and the man was transferred into a land ambulance before being taken to hospital.
Chivenor crews returned to the Braunton-base at around 3.15pm.
