WITH 10cc, Graham Gouldman gave us the memorable refrain "I don't like cricket" – from Dreadlock Holiday – and the broody, bittersweet lyrics to I'm Not In Love. Yet his catalogue of work spans almost 50 years and contains hits such as The Yardbirds' For Your Love and No Milk Today by Herman's Hermits.

In recent years, Gouldman has co-written with the likes of Gary Barlow, Tim Rice, Paul Carrack, Chris Difford and Suggs, as well as spending time in Nashville writing with, among others, Country Songwriter of the Year Gary Burr. Gouldman also co-wrote with McFly for their No 1 album Wonderland.

Meanwhile, he continues to take the 10cc band around the world for concerts and festivals. Last December they toured arenas with Status Quo and have headline concert tours set for October and then February-March, culminating with a return to the Royal Albert Hall.

Catch Graham Gouldman and Heart Full Of Songs at the Plough Arts Centre, Torrington on Friday, May 9, 8pm. Tickets: £24 (adult), £22 (concession), £20 (Plough supporter). Box office: 01805 624624.
