A North Devon MP has met with parents and carers of adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorders.
The meeting at Caddsdown Business Support Centre, Bideford, was attended by Torridge and West Devon MP, Geoffrey Cox.
Guests were invited to discuss difficult issues around caring for a person suffering from an autistic disorder.
Support for families was the main point raised.
And questions were asked about how to apply for benefits such as the Personal Independence Payment, housing grants and Employment Support Allowance.
Mr Cox said: "We discussed a range of topics at the meeting, including the need for greater support for families when they are completing the forms required to gain access to benefits such as PIP and ESA.
"I have previously tackled this with the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions and fully intend to do so again."
