CCTV captured the moment a man walked out of two stores without paying for alcohol.
Robbie O'Driscoll, 26, of Meddon Street in Bideford, stole four crates of beer worth £20 from Morrisons and later left MColls with a £10 bottle of sambuca. Lyndsey Baker, for the prosecution, told the court O'Driscoll said in interview he had been going through difficult times and stole the alcohol to block out his problems.
Magistrates heard O'Driscoll had come out of jail in March this year after being imprisoned for affray. He pleaded guilty to two counts of theft. The case was adjourned until Friday, October 25 for presentence reports to be prepared.
