FOOTBALL

SEVEN years of friendly rivalry ended when Braunton Wanderers under-16s beat Braunton FC 4-2 in the West Country Cleaning Services North Devon Youth League.

It was the players' last match in youth football. The teams were said to have been best mates off the pitch but extremely competitive on it. This year group was the first for which Braunton had entered two sides in the league.

Both managers, Dave Bennett and Daz Fallowfield, thanked the players for their support and wished them the best for the future.

Wanderers finished in third place, while Braunton were tenth in the eleven-team division, five points off the bottom.
