Braunton fourths beat Fremington reserves in a penalty shoot-out to clinch the North Devon Journal Cup last night.
The final at Ilfracombe Town finished goalless as Fremington defended superbly despite being reduced to ten men in the first half.
Luke Ovey was dismissed for a second yellow card in the 43rd minute and his team mates rallied to prevent a young Braunton team finding their best form.
Although they dominated possession, the intermediate two leaders struggled to create chances and Matt Pow had a late opportunity to win it for Fremmy, prodding wide from Ronnie Ellaway's cross.
Danny Ball looked the player most likely to make the breakthrough for Braunton, testing goalkeeper Gary Grant with left-footed strikes.
The stalemate continued in extra time and Braunton prevailed 4-1 on penalties after two excellent saves from goalkeeper James Greenaway.
