A young boy was injured and one lane of the A361 North Devon link road closed after a car veered off the road and into a hedge this morning.
One lane of the A361 eastbound was closed near Tiverton after the Mercedes, which is registered to an address in Slough, Berkshire, collided with a hedge at around 7.50am.
The young child, who was a passenger in the car at the time of the crash, was treated for minor injuries at the scene by paramedics. He did not require hospital treatment. It is understood the driver was not injured.
A white Renault panel van, travelling from Cullompton, stopped at the scene to help but was not involved in the crash.
The road was blocked at the junction of the A361 and the A396, Gornhay Cross, while emergency services dealt with the incident and the vehicle was removed.
The road was cleared and reopened by 9.40am.
