Owen Howe is set to rejoin the race to be Bideford’s top scorer.
After two games out with a hamstring injury, the striker could be back for tomorrow’s home match against Chesham United.
“Hopefully we’ll patch him up and throw him out there,” said Sean Joyce, the Bideford manager.
Howe has scored 12 goals in all competitions this season – the first coming in a 2-2 draw at Chesham on the opening day of the season.
He shares second place in the Robins’ scoring chart with Sean Downing. Craig Duff, who scored twice in last weekend’s 4-3 win over Redditch United, leads the way with 13.
Downing has been carrying a knee injury since December but completed 90 minutes against Redditch.
“Sean is Sean – he doesn’t stop,” said Joyce. “A half-fit Sean Downing is good. He still affects the game when he’s not at his best.”
Bideford, in eighth place in the Calor League Premier Division, have lost only once in their last nine games at the Sports Ground. Tomorrow is their penultimate home fixture after which they will finish the season with matches against Biggleswade Town (away), Frome Town (home) and Hungerford Town (away).
Chesham are in second place, seven points behind leaders Hemel Hempstead Town and 10 clear of third-placed St Albans City.
Bideford’s 2013-14 top scorers: Craig Duff 13 goals, Sean Downing 12, Owen Howe 12, Matt Hockley 9.
