Neil Giddy was Bideford's high-profile signing from Barnstaple in the summer, but two other recruits from their big rivals have made an impression this season.
Ollie Sanders and Will Copp were playing in the Barnstaple Colts pack last season before following experienced fly half Giddy across the Torridge.
And with Bideford dealing with a lengthy injury list, both have had plenty of game time in the opening Tribute South West One West matches.
Copp has featured in all three games – defeats to Bridgwater and Albion, St Austell and Camborne. Sanders, who has joined his brother Pat Sanders in the Bideford squad, impressed enough against Camborne to keep himself involved for tomorrow's home game against Chard.
Kevin Booth, the Bideford coach, said: "Ollie had a good run-out and played really well – he has put his name in the hat for this week."
While Copp starts at open-side flanker, another new forward will be alongside Sanders on the bench tomorrow but this one will be familiar to many spectators at King George's Field. Jon Mills will be pulling on a Bideford first XV shirt for the first time in seven years, having joined from Taunton in the summer.
As Bideford look for their first win of the season, Chard will be playing away for the third time in four games. They started the season with a 29-15 win at Coney - the only side below Bideford in the table - and, after beating North Petherton 18-7 at home, lost 29-10 at Chard last week.
