Bideford celebrate against Shamwickshire Rovers

The top two teams in the North Devon League premier division will meet in the Brayford Cup final.

Bideford reserves and Torridgeside won their semi-finals today, setting up a clash, likely to be at Barnstaple Town's Mill Road on May 18.

Bideford had few problems in their derby at Shamwickshire Rovers after Nathan Bate and Sam Stephens put them 2-0 up by half time.

Ben Ford scored the third against his former club and although Adam Halling replied for Shammy, Phil Kelly and Sam Grimley sealed a 5-1 win for the Robins.

It was not as straight forward for Torridgeside who were given a stern test by Braunton before goals from Jamie Bright, Marc Bettiss and Paddy Ions edged them through 3-2.

Tom White had equalised for the visitors who finished strongly after Mark Galliford pulled one back from the penalty spot.

There was disappointment too, for Braunton reserves with a 2-1 defeat at Combe Martin in the Combe Martin Cup.

They stayed in touch with an equaliser from Elliot Whitecross but strikes from Joe Seldon and Cassian Blackmore had the hosts in front at half time.

Combe Martin, who have a rematch with Braunton in the Holman Cup final on Monday, wasted the chance to increase their advantage when Simon Townsend blazed a penalty over the bar.

Fremington will be their opponents in the final at Hollands Park after battling for a 3-1 triumph over Torrington.

Scoring just before and after half time through Mark Sanders and Andy King, they edged the meeting between the senior division's top two.

Torrie replied with a penalty but, despite being reduced to ten men after a red card for Tim King, Fremington sealed a hard-earned win with a spot kick from Sanders.

Northside Atlantic will meet Barnstaple FC in the Arlington Cup final.

Goals from Paul Mills, Marc Palmer, Damian Shaddick, Oli Robinson and Andy Clarke saw Northside ease to a 5-0 win at Barnstaple AAC.

And Barnstaple FC held the edge over Woolacombe and Mortehoe, prevailing 3-2 thanks to Keith McClure, Tom Nash and Stuart McKinnon.

All the goals came in the first half as Braunton fourths booked their place in the North Devon Journal Cup final with a 3-0 win over Putford.

An own goal put the holders ahead and Dan Crocombe scored twice, setting up a final against Fremington reserves.

Fremmy stunned Buckland Brewer 5-0 with a hat-trick from Matt Pow, a free kick from Jamie Rolfe and an own goal.
