THE cricket club was busy with a Beer Festival on Saturday and the annual Rotary Fun Day on Sunday.
The Beer Festival offered Saturday evening entertainment, while Sunday's activities began at 1pm. With its large dog show, bouncy castle, archery, pony and tractor rides, races and huge variety of stalls, the annual Rotary Fun Day must be one of Hatherleigh's top annual entertainments.
There is literally something for everyone – plenty of refreshments, great book stall, displays, well organised races and competitions for all ages.
There were opportunities to make it a real fun day – toddlers had their faces painted, teenagers and adults threw eggs to their partners at ever increasing distances and elderly Hatherleigh residents thoroughly enjoyed a cup of tea while watching the activities.
Candy floss, ice creams, a beer tent, barbecue and cream teas were also available.
The fantastic space and lovely setting lends itself so well to such activities.
Devon Air Ambulance and the North Devon District Hospital Chemotherapy Appeal will be the main beneficiaries of funds raised on Sunday.
