THE Autumn Art Fair at Eggesford Garden Centre is well worth a visit. With more than 25 Devon-based artists showing their work there is bound to be something that catches your eye.
The event takes place on Sunday, September 29 from 11am to 4pm, entry is free.
"Based on the success of our craft fairs we thought we would add a new event to this year's programme" said garden centre owner Derrick Dyer.
"We are really pleased with response from the art community, especially as there are quite a few artists who have not been to previous events."
Original works in many mediums will be on show along with artist made prints and cards. The wide range of topics includes landscapes, wildlife and portraits. Portrait artists will also be demonstrating their work on the day.
As well as individual artists, local art societies, groups and galleries will be at the fair.
Dave Rodgers, secretary of Ilfracombe Art & Craft Society said: "The society is having a large space and using this as a means to show people who we are and advertise the gallery in Ilfracombe. There will be original pictures from 10 of our artists on show and an opportunity to enter a raffle draw to win one of three pictures."
Set in the beautiful Taw valley, Eggesford Gardens is a good destination for a day out. There is a well-stocked garden centre selling a wide range of plants along with gifts, books, toys and seasonal goods too. Delicious home-cooked food is served all day in the Gardens Restaurant.
