BRILLIANT art work aims to brighten up your day in Bideford during the month of June. And you don't have to visit an art gallery to see it.

Everything from painting, photography, prints, jewellery and costume created by artists from the area can be seen at places around the town.

The Culture Show has been set up by Bideford Bay Creatives who want to make art accessible to all.

"This year's theme is A Portrait Of Bideford and features artworks made about and inspired by living in the Bideford Bay area," said Sadie Green, chairman of Bideford Bay Creatives. "What's exciting is some of these artworks will go on to be shown in Dare County Arts Council Gallery, in an important group exhibition.

"The exhibition will take place in Bideford's twin town of Manteo in North Carolina for the whole of September."

Look out for the colourful Culture Show Venue sign in windows and doorways of businesses supporting the project. All venues are within walking distance of each other.

Also look out for artworks which may appear in empty shop windows in the town as units become vacant.

Details about the project are on the Bideford Bay Creatives website at www.bbcdevon.org.
