AN arrest made following a burglary in East Devon may be linked to a similar offence in Combe Martin, police believe.
The burglary took place at a Spar shop on September 1 in Fore Street in Budleigh Salterton.
A 50-year-old male was arrested and charged following the offence which has been linked with a similar burglary almost a month earlier.
On August 2, newsagents Sue’s of Combe Martin had more than £5,000 worth of goods stolen.
An investigation is now taking place to determine whether this burglary was committed by the same man.
After the offence in Combe Martin was reported, two police cars drove to the wrong town after being sent to Ilfracombe, which is five miles away.
A complaint was made regarding this and a police investigation has taken place.
Witnesses are still being asked to come forward with any information regarding the Combe Martin burglary by ringing 101 and quoting crime reference CI/13/828.
