Katie Hopkins has revealed her fuller figure on tv for the first time after pilling on the pounds for a new programme.
The Apprentice motor mouth, who grew up in Bideford, appeared on This Morning to discuss her experience putting on – and losing – 3.5 stone.
The columnist has been eating 6500 calories a day over the course of three months, and has gone from a size 8 to size 16.
ITV's This Morning today showed a clip of the TLC doc Katie Hopkins Journey to Fat and Back and in it the former Apprentice contestant sobs.
She revealed her fuller figure to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on Monday’s show.
She said: ‘I’ve always criticised fat people so I’ve put my money where my mouth is. [But] my lungs don’t have space anymore. I was 8 stone 8, I’m nearly 12 stone now.
‘I’m not lucky to be skinny…it’s really hard to be fat. Carrying this around is exhausting. Feeling my stomach sitting on top of my legs is exhausting.
‘If you’re happy with yourself when you look in the mirror, that’s fine by me – but if not have you got excuses?’
Katie had previously put on the weight as she had had enough of fat people making excuses for putting on weight.
In her article for The Sun, Hopkins said that putting on weight has made her ‘more miserable than I have been at any other time in my life.’
In a clip, the rent-a-gob sobbed: "This is a stupid project. I hate fat people for making me do this..."
Off camera, her husband replied: "Well, it was your idea."
