THERE is still time to catch the Burton Art Gallery's annual open exhibition. It's a chance to peruse a multitude of fine art, from paintings to prints, ceramics to jewellery and textiles to sculpture.
All art is by talented artists, amateurs and professionals alike, from across the region. This year the Burton received an unprecedented number of submissions numbering more than 400. The high number of entries has meant that competition to be selected was extremely high. A final total of 150 entries were chosen to go on display.
Due to such a high standard of entries, this year also sees more prizewinners, with six artists rather than three who will each receive a cash prize of £50. The winners are Jackie Chin, Wendy Page, Martin Blunt, Zoe Hyde, Jay Luttman-Johnson and Doreen Cox.
The exhibition runs until Sunday, December 23. Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm and Sunday, 11am to 4pm.
