A 15-year-old had to be airlifted to hospital yesterday after breaking his left ankle while out on an expedition on Exmoor.
RAF Chivenor's Search and Rescue helicopter was sent to help the teenager at around 4pm.
He had been out with five others on an orienteering exercise when the incident happened.
The helicopter navigated low cloud and mist to reach the teenager before airlifting him to North Devon District Hospital shortly before 5pm.
An RAF Chivenor spokesman confirmed the teenager had no other injuries and was accompanied to hospital by a scout leader.
