POLICE are appealing for information after a sink and railings were ripped from a disabled toilet in an “act of mindless vandalism”.

More than £1,000 worth of damage was caused to the room at Bideford Football Club between 5pm on March 6 and 9am the next day.

An offender used a screwdriver to get inside the building before causing the damage to the fixtures and a water pipe - which caused substantial flooding.

“This was a deliberate and malicious act of mindless vandalism which caused extensive damage within the toilet building,” said PC Adam Sinclair, of Bideford police.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time of the offence.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously 0800 55511, quoting crime reference CD/14/507.
